I found this out from a new urologist I started seeing.
His name was Dr Arthur Marshall.
He has over 40 years of experience for patients with bladder leak problems.
He explained how the key to regaining bladder control almost always comes down to a stronger pelvic floor.
But most solutions don't train the pelvic floor properly.
Traditional pelvic floor exercises can work but they need to be done very specifically to be effective.
But he explained how even if they are done perfectly, they miss an important aspect,
resistance.
Like any muscle, resistance is crucial for the pelvic floor to get stronger.
It's like going to the gym and trying to get stronger by squeezing your biceps in the mirror.
Compared to applying resistance against the bicep with a dumbell.
The pelvic floor is no diffirent.
This is why most solutions don't work. They don't put resistance against the pelvic floor, so they don't make a meaningful improvement.
After he explained this to me, I asked him: "How do I apply resistance to the pelvic floor then?"
He then walked over to the corner in his room and picked up a blue device.
I thought it looked a bit like something that you train your thighs with.
But he explained how it directly applies resistance to your pelvic floor.
